TowBoatUS Smooth Sailing Award Goes To Locally Owned Business

February 25, 2022

Locally owned and family operated TowBoatUS Annapolis/Baltimore/Middle River was recognized recently during the BoatU.S. National towing conference as the Northeast regional recipient of the "Smooth Sailing" Award. The award is presented to TowBoatU.S. towing companies who provide outstanding customer service, superior operational customer response and administrative accuracy. This the sixth consecutive year that TowBoatU.S. Annapolis/Baltimore/Middle River has received this recognition.

Founded in 1991, the marine towing and salvage operation was purchased by Captain Dale Plummer in 2011. In 2015, the company expanded its service area to include TowBoatU.S. Annapolis. Along with his wife, Christine Plummer who manages the company's marketing, accounting and dispatch, Plummer and their two sons, Austin and Brian, are USCG licensed Captains who answer calls for assistance 24/7/365. During the peak season, seasonal crew grows to include up to twenty licensed Captains from the area enriching local boating safety and our local economy. "In 2021, our Captains and crew responded to over 2400 dispatches," says Captain Plummer. "So we are very proud to be recognized for consistent high standards of service that we consider key to our success."
